Feb 8th - Biopsy Day!

February 8th
Before Biopsy

The biopsy is scheduled for 1:30 today at Northside Forsyth.  Pre-op is at noon.

Word spread quickly about Phil. He had many visitors prior to his biopsy this morning from family and co-workers which was so heart warming and meant so much to us.  You know who you are - we love you!

Before being pushed into surgery, I pleaded with the doctor to PLEASE take good care of him. I need him!!

As all of you are well aware of his wicked sense of humor, he continued to joke and to be as sarcastic as ever.  The nurse had the balls to wish him Happy Birthday on the way into surgery.  What was his response, with that shit eating grin with his two thumbs up?  "It's a great birthday, I got a HUGE tumor for my birthday!" She almost cried - LOL.

After waiting for over 2 hours - Dr. Belknap called to speak to me and John.  He brought us into the small Consulting Room #2.  Now, this is where I became a deer in headlights for the next two days.  I took some notes and the only words I wrote down were neo-plastic, glioblastoma, vital signs are beautiful, cancer, he is alive... Not knowing what most of that meant, I said that doesn't sound too bad, I will go out and google glioblastoma. 😟  I went out to the waiting room to tell my family.  We all googled that nasty word.  Here are my notes I took from the doctor that I started and then John took over.

Here is Phil after the biopsy.
Always positive!!
